île d’Orléans
I was enamored with the landscape of île d’Orléans, just north of Old Quebec City.
I was struck by the loneliness and solitude of the farmscapes. Often was most present was what was missing. This series captures the beauty of the landscape and solitude of the farmland.

ILE de ORLEANS
île d’Orléans, is a small island located in the Saint Lawrence River about 5 kilometres east of Old Quebec City, Canada. I was struck by the beauty, orderliness, and solitude of the farmscapes as I pedaled around the island several years ago. Often what seemed most present was what was missing — notably the almost complete absence of farmers or farmhands. This series was my attempt to capture the elegance and serenity of this agricultural landscape.
