"Twood: Equipoise" is based on a sculpture by the German expressionist sculptor Ernst Barlach entitled "The Avenger", a favorite sculpture of mine. Where "The Avenger" is wielding a sword and ready to go to battle, "Twood: Equipoise" strikes a peaceful and balanced pose, searching for equanimity and calm in the turmoil of daily life.
